At last, the second edition has been finally completed, now with this second colour variant. A glorious, full-on fluorescent pink. It literally lights a room up. You can’t not see it!
Beyond the obvious play on words, this silkscreen print is about the print journey and the ‘printyness’ and happy accidents that differentiate something like this from an exact computer printout. It’s the small misregistrations, the overlay of inks, the over- or under-inking that gives silkscreen prints and printmaking in general their appeal, or it does to me! Otherwise, I’d just print out digital prints directly from my computer. It’s the transition and human involvement that interests me.
This edition is a great companion piece to the pale blue variant. The pink has to be seen to understand how bright it is; it really demands your attention! The cameras struggle to replicate the colour’s strength.
